Keyword Search Optimization. Use Wordtracker to Choose the Right KeywordThe most important aspect of search engine optimization is keyword search optimization. In plain English - using the right keyword. That said, it is very important to cater your content to the human visitor, and only then go back to optimize your website for search engines. Optimizing your website should never come at the expense of providing your human reader with sloppy information. Many often make the mistake of choosing keywords and phrases that are commonly used by others. Basically keywords and phrases with high popularity numbers (a good keyword optimization tool like Wordtracker will provide these statistics). If your keyword is too widely used, you will have to work very hard to climb the ranks of the search engines. And depending on your website concept and goal (i.e. is it an eCommerce website or an Adsense website?) your keywords might be too broadly used that they will attract all kinds of visitors so as that they don’t convert into customers or click on your ads. To give an example, a website focused on shower heads might attract all kinds of traffic. Some of the visitors might be interested in stainless steel shower heads, whereas others might be interested in hot steam shower heads. Do you see the distinction? It’s the same as having a website optimized for pet food versus having it optimized for dog food and better yet a specific breed such as German Sheppard Food. Yes you are thinking that Dog Food is Dog Food. The more specific you can get the better. But be careful, you don’t want to get so specific that your keyword does not have much demand to begin with. You need the popularity and high demand, which tells you that there are people out there searching for those keywords and phrases. Do pay close attention to the demand statistics. If there is not much demand for your keyword, it isn’t searched for enough, then it isn’t worth using to optimize your website. You are better off pursuing one of the million other available words and phrases. This can be tough sometimes because the keyword might make perfect sense and fit into your website’s concept perfectly. However, it is simply not efficient to pursue it. Move on with your keyword search optimization and you are likely to find a replacement right away. WordTracker will provide you with thousands of alternatives. By choosing keywords and phrases that are not too broad, that is specific and has a high demand (but not too much), you can cut your work significantly and achieve a lot of success on the Internet. Search Optimization does boil down to choosing the best keyword through keyword search optimization a lot of times. This is what distinguishes one web page from another in terms of how it is indexed by search engines. Keep it real and simple. And always remember, cater your content first for your human visitor and only then for search engines. |
